Today, we're diving into five important updates the UK government recently announced on September 7, 2023, about visa rules. These changes could affect you, whether you're planning to move to the UK or you're already living there. Let's take a closer look at each update.
Stricter Child Dependent Visa Rules: The government has made it tougher for people applying for a child dependent visa. They're now asking for more proof about the relationship with the child, arrangements for their care, and whether the child depends on the applicant.
TB Test Reminder: If you're thinking of staying in the UK for more than six months, remember that you might need a TB test if you're from certain countries, like India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh. If you leave the UK for more than six months and come back, you might need to take the TB test again.
Reminder about Access to Public Funds: The UK government wants to remind immigrants that they're not allowed to use public funds. So, if you're in the UK, make sure you're not using any public money for your expenses.
New Job Opportunity: Good news! The list of jobs eligible for the skilled worker visa has a new addition: prison service officer. If this job matches your skills, you might be eligible for the skilled worker visa. Check out the video for more details.
Visa Fee Changes: Brace yourself for some changes in visa fees. Starting from October 4, 2023, the cost of many visas, like work, visit, and study visas, is going up. For example, the fee for a student visa will increase from £363 to £490, a 35% increase.
So, those were the five updates from the UK government. Thanks for reading, and I'll catch you soon in my next blog. Keep learning and staying informed!
